A Perfect Password Solution Using 1Password and DropBox

Remembering passwords has never been a strength of mine.  One of the challenges I faced was having passwords with me when I needed them, at the office, at home, at a hotel in the business center computer, when talking to the bank from my phone, etc.  It never failed that when I needed a password I wasn't sitting in front of my PC at the office where they were stored.

Now I use 1Password from 1password.com and love it.  There is an application for my PC, Mac, iPad and iPhone.  I run the application on each device.

What makes 1password work so well for me is DropBox, an online storage application which makes it easy to share files between computers.  This is the magic sauce that enables me to add a new password to 1password at work and immediately be able to access it from any of my devices instantly.  I don't need to remember to manually copy files from one device to another.  It happens automagically!

DropBox offers free and paid plans for the service.  My solution uses the free plan which offers 2 GB of storage online which is way more than I need to keep track of hundreds of passwords.  If you are interested in getting a free account, please use this link to sign up.  There's something in it for both of us if you do.  http://db.tt/WMwnii3

The above link is a referral link.  Because you were referred by me, you get an extra 250 MB of free storage.  I get the same amouont of extra storage added to my account up to a total of 8 GB.

I started using DropBox around 9/2010 for the password solution.  Now I use it frequently to move files between my home and office.  It is super convenient.  There is even an option to create public folders so you can share files between friends.  You can get more information about DropBox at www.dropbox.com.

I hope you see the benefit of using 1password and DropBox.  Enjoy this solution.
